A recent study by NielsenIQ also found that 78% of US consumers say that a sustainable lifestyle is important to them. Additionally, findings from a new global report from the Economist Intelligence Unit shows an incredible 71% rise in online searches for sustainable goods over the last 5 years.

Hotel guests checking into sustainability

It’s not just about the goods. It’s also a cultural shift that playing across the board, including
services and hospitality. We can’t choose between an electric and a fuel-guzzling aircraft yet,
but guests can be certainly be picky about hotels and their sustainable practices. Recent surveys
show 67% of travelers now prefer accommodations with consistent sustainability certifications,
with guests shown to pay more and choose to revisit eco-friendly hotels.
