Are you curious about how the water from your tap stacks up against filtered or bottled water? In this class, Anastasia will invite you to join a private water tasting experience – and yes, you can easily participate at home. You only need the following items: Four 8-ounce glasses, Unfiltered tap water, Filtered tap water, Your favorite bottled water, Sparkling water (unflavored)

Why does tap water, bottled water, and filtered water taste different?
Here are some key factors:
- Source of the Water: Different sources such as springs, aquifers, and municipal supplies have distinct mineral compositions.
- Mineral Content: The presence of minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium can greatly influence the taste. The higher the mineral content the harder the water. Residues on cleaned dishes, dry skin and hair, and faded towels are signs of harder water at home. Although it’s considered safe to drink, it can negatively affect taste, your plumbing system and your health.
- Treatment Processes: Tap water is treated with chemicals like chlorine to make it safe for drinking, which can affect its flavor.
- Storage and Packaging: The material of the bottle or container and the duration of storage can impact the taste of bottled water.
- Environmental Factors: The geographical area, including soil and rock types through which the water travels, can contribute to its unique taste.
- Filtration Methods: Different filters (carbon, reverse osmosis, etc.) remove various impurities and minerals, altering the taste profile.
